Current Release: Version 2.2
OPC Rescue® is a groundbreaking tool for anyone in automation. OPC Rescue® allows users to easily diagnose communication and security problems, and repair them instantly with the push of a button. All this can be done without ever having to learn to configure DCOM.
Developed by the OPC and DCOM experts, OPC Rescue® can be used with any brand of OPC products, servers, and clients. The easy to use interface walks users through a wizard that quickly and effortlessly diagnoses and repairs communication, configuration and security. Advanced settings like OPC communication on specific TCP/IP ports, Windows firewall configuration, etc. are also handled easily with OPC Rescue®.
The first stage of OPC Rescue® is Snapshot®. Snapshot® instantaneously provides an organized and comprehensive report of all settings affecting OPC communication. Users can employ OPC Rescue® to automatically repair your customized OPC communication settings without using DCOM. The Snapshot® report can also be used by IT departments or vendors for further follow up, or as an archive of previous OPC settings.
The second stage of OPC Rescue® is Security Audit®. Security Audit® generates a report that outlines potential security risks that could compromise the integrity of your industrial information. This report outlines a description of security risks, their causes, and recommended solutions. Users can implement OPC Rescue® to implement a secure OPC communication infrastructure.
No product installation is required to use OPC Rescue®. Users simply copy OPC Rescue® to their computer, and run the executable file. Next, utilize the wizard to diagnose and repair communication and security.
When users no longer require OPC Rescue®, the folder can simply be deleted. This ensures no changes are ever made to Windows Registry through the installation process, meaning that Validated systems comply with plant, industry, and federal regulations.
