OPC Foundation Road Show

Denver, CO: September 18, 2007 - The OPC Foundation conducted the 5th of 6 OPC Technology Road Shows for their 2007 season. Following the July 19th event in Philadelphia, PA was the one day Denver, CO road show on September 18th. Local industry and integrators congregated for this free, full day event to learn how to leverage OPC in industry.

OPC is a standards-based technology used in process automation and discrete manufacturing. OPC helps define how to share data between disparate control systems and software applications. The result is true interoperability.

Tom Burke, President, OPC FoundationTom Burke, President of the OPC Foundation, welcomed everyone to the event by providing a historical look at how OPC has become as popular as it has. Since the inception of OPC in 1996, industry has embraced the standard which has been supported by many vendors.

Randy Kondor, VP of Education for the OPC Foundation and President of the OPC Training Institute, was the master of ceremonies for the event. "OPC has matured into a technology with a proven track record" says Kondor. "We continue to be evangelists of OPC by sharing with end users and integrators the benefits of using OPC to enable interoperability within their operations. These road shows are just one way we do this".

Vendor neutral presentations included:
