Chris Robinson
Over the years, Chris has sat on the OPC Foundation’s international standards committee for industrial communication technologies where he assisted in the development of the specifications for OPC DX, OPC Common IO, and OPC Complex Data. Chris has also spent time teaching others about how OPC Technology works and the benefits of using it. Chris has traveled worldwide as an OPC instructor to perform multi level OPC training. Course curriculum included how to use this technology, how to design systems using OPC technology, and trouble shooting the technology in larger installations. Chris has extensive experience with Visual Source Safe, Visual Studio .NET and works with technologies including OPC, Visual C++, Visual Studio .NET, C#, MFC, COM, ATL, SOAP, and XML. Chris’s career and experience has taken him all over the world including Europe, Canada, USA, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. During his travels, Chris has built a strong reputation within the industrial automation industry by managing projects with sponsors including Honeywell, ABB, Foxboro, GE, Allen Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, Emerson, Schneider, BP, Suncor, OPG, Dell, Washington Gas, Shell, NIPSCO, and StatOil. When Chris can spare the time, he works as a contributing editor for the OPC Training Institute. |

Chris Robinson is a veteran software developer with extensive experience in OPC technology. Chris has worked as the senior development manager for the world’s largest OPC developer, MatrikonOPC. During his time with MatrikonOPC, Chris personally managed over 80 OPC development projects ranging in complexity.
